Clare O’Hare | foreign licensed attorney, legal consultant
Clare O’Hare is an attorney admitted to practice in England & Wales (2007) and Ireland (2014). Immediately prior to joining Nelson Madden Black in 2016, Ms. O’Hare spent two years at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where she completed a master’s degree with a focus on religion & politics.
Before moving to the United States, Ms. O’Hare worked for nearly 8 years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she was an associate in the London and Dubai offices, and also spent some time working at Matheson’s Dublin office. While her primary focus was on international financial transactions, Islamic finance and restructuring & insolvency, she has extensive experience with general corporate and commercial matters.
During her time at Freshfields Ms. O’Hare was actively involved in MENA (Middle East and North Africa), CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and pro-bono work. She was the founder and, for a number of years, co-chair of Freshfields’ MENA CSR and Pro-bono Committee. Ms. O’Hare has presented at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce CEO-CSR Series on the topic of Opportunities and Challenges for Corporate Responsibility in the MENA region and has had a submission accepted for the 2016 Algeria Roundtable on Upper Chambers in Arab Constitutions.
In addition, Ms. O’Hare co-authored the 2009, 2010 and 2011 UAE chapter in Getting the Deal Through Restructuring and Insolvency and co-authored the Egypt chapter of the Legislative Frameworks for Child Survival report for Save the Children.
